How to write effective emails?

Hi,

 Everyone can write effective emails. Just keep in mind following principles



  1. Be clear: "Clearity comes first", start with a question, what do they need to know, read it out loud
  2. Be concice: use simple, short words such as : buy, write, goal, find keep...avoiding fluffy languages, be carefull with adjectives and modifiers, concrete concepts and ideas
  3. Consider your audience: what do they need to know, give only the information they need
  4. Write like you speak


Tactics to use:

  • outline core ideas
  • try an editorial calender
  • be effective: this is not about entertainment


5 written components of Email
  1. Subject line (see below)
  2. Preheader (somewhere between summary and teaser) first thing people see.
  3. Headline = optional
  4. Body Copy (call to action for purchase, vent, reading an article), help you accomplish the goals that you set.
  5. Footer (your email, address, image, link)
subject line
  • tell what's inside, don't sell
  • be descriptive
  • make it local place or personal (your name)
  • aim for 50 characters
  • use emojis for fun
  • avoid caps and exclamations
  • test subject lines
