It offers more international connections to and from this region than the competition. We have three gateways in Brazil: Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Viracopos. This allows us to deliver faster to the final destination in Brazil than the competitors, who only have one gateway each. ​

DHL Parcel – along with the Finnish postal operator Posti and Bring, a subsidiary of the Norwegian postal operator Posten Norge – are joining forces to jointly offer a dedicated B2C infrastructure for parcel deliveries across Scandinavia, Finland and the Baltic states. 

Some of our customers (especially large companies) may receive international shipments on a regular basis delivered by several different logistics providers. In this situation they may prefer to have a single customs broker performing all their clearance instead of the carrier. To support this requirement, DHL can initiate the Handover to Broker procedure.

In some countries, local authorities can demand an official declaration of shipments exported from that country. DHL can handle this formality on behalf of a customer. It is known as Export Declaration

Our business customers do not only ship with us, but also regularly receive shipments delivered by DHL. As most of these shipments are sent on a DTU basis (import duties and taxes unpaid), they can ask DHL to automatically cover all import duties and taxes and bill for them later. This service is known as Disbursement .

When a non-doc shipment is sent to a different country for a limited amount of time (with a guarantee that it will exit this country again), customs duties and taxes don’t need to be paid. DHL can arrange this procedure for a customer.  It is known as Temporary Import/Export .
